History
ROY International Consultancy was formed in 1988 in California. The first activity was Project Consultation and was instrumental to organize Joint Ventures with the USSR Central Geophysical Expedition, Ministry of Electronic Industry and Ministry of Automobile Industry. It slowly started export from USA and thousands of different equipments and personnel computers were sold to different organizations in USSR.
Apart from the previous activities in India, Hong-Kong, Singapore, Germany and England, the main activity of the Company was focused on sales activity of American goods in USSR, later in the CIS countries. In March 1992, Company became a Corporation. Joint production activity was started with Moscow Central Geophysical Expedition, Minsk Integral Chip Manufacturing Factory, Scientific Production Factory "Nadeshda", Moscow. Different scientific projects were undertaken together with Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Computing Center of Academy of Sciences and Institute of Eye Micro-surgery. Another area where the Company has concentrated is the activities of Non-conventional Energy sources mainly on Solar Energy.
President of the Company, Dr. Cherian Eapen, is an activist in the ecology and environment protection. He is a member of the High level Advisory Committee for implementation Non-conventional Energy Sources, Government of Kerala.
ROY International Consultancy is now an organization, designing and carrying out different complex software/hardware projects on the turn-key terms in the field of new client/server information technologies, which are used by many American, Japanese and European organization.
For three years the company has been acting in the market of the former Soviet Union and is the authorized partner/distributor/consultant of several American companies, like Sun Microsystems, the worlds biggest manufacturer of Graphic Workstations and servers, pioneer of client/server technology, Cabletron Systems, world leader in the field of network equipments, Cadence Design Systems, electronic industry's leading supplier of electronic design automation (EDA) software technology and services. ROY International Consultancy has maintained close partnership with ComputerVision, the biggest CAD/CAM company.
During this period ROY International Consultancy and its partners have been constantly rendering multi-services for organizations in the CIS territory, beginning with consultation, demonstrations, working out of technical solutions, shipment of hardware/software complex, and ending with installation, guarantee and post-guarantee services. ROY International Consultancy Moscow representation was one of the first companies to begin holding seminars and demonstrations of Sun Microsystems equipment both in Moscow and in other cities of the former Soviet Union. ROY International Consultancy was the first company that legally delivered Sun Microsystems to Russia (Angstrem, Zelenograd, 1991). ROY International Consultancy together with Cadence was the first to deliver and install Cadence licensed software (NPO Integral, Minsk; Progress, Moscow), and ROY International Consultancy was the first among Sun's partners in the CIS that was enlisted the right to deliver guarantee and post-guarantee services of Sun equipment. ROY International Consultancy is the first company to represent Sybase (Database software) in CIS. ROY International Consultancy successfully carrying out the System Integration work.
Together with Belmicrosystems of Integral, ROY International Consultancy established a Joint Design Center in 1993 for the manufacturing of Industrial Chips for Civil needs. The investment goes to $400,000 worth of Sun Computers and Cadence E-CAD software and connecting equipment. ROY International Consultancy maintain this Design Center in Minsk and some revenue started coming. The number of Sun servers and workstations shipped by ROY International Consultancy to the CIS runs over 1000. Several SPARC machines needed export licenses and we obtained it together with Sun. ROY International Consultancy delivers guarantee and post - guarantee services to the product they have supplied, in five cities in the territory of the former Soviet Union. Goskomobrasovanija (State Committee for Education), Central Geophysical Expedition, Computing Center of the Russian Academy of Science, Aviation Industries of Sukhoi, Yakovlev and Tupolev, KAMAZ are among ROY International Consultancy main customers. ROY International Consultancy and ComputerVision (Parametric Technology at present) together delivered CAD/CAM software to three of the above mentioned organizations. At present, ROY International Consultancy in partnership with Sun and Cabletron representatives are fulfilling the task of complete computerization of ZIL, one of the biggest automobile factories in Russia, on the basis of Client/Server technology.
